(an inclusivity poem in the spirit of Sussex by the Sea)
Audio PoemNot only blue, not only white,
but colours bold and free;
from many lands our voices rise
to sing of unity.
From Palace Pier to Sussex Downs,
a wider world is found;
in Albion’s stripes all nations join,
and Sussex Pride resounds.
Each language spoken, each faith held,
each song in every tongue;
our community lifts every child,
our daughters and our sons.
And Seagulls fly where winds may blow,
from every shore they meet;
a flock of many colours here,
in Albion complete.
And love is love, our spectrum shines,
a thousand truths in brilliant lines;
with every body, mind, and heart,
you’re Albion in your soul.
So raise the flag, let voices ring,
we’ll stand or fall as one;
for Sussex by the Sea we march,
our rainbow to the sun.
