ON SPRING

Before then, there was the indulgence
But that would never last
The blooms would always fade
Before the first shadows were cast

Winter turns to summer
Without the virtues of spring
Cold loneliness and consuming heat
Never could true bonds begin

Yet when that time was special
The leaves did glow and fall
And lost in a world of confusion
We built a desperate wall

Clouds formed around us
In darkness, is it the night?
Separation, the evident option
Do we give up without a fight?

Distant yet never departed
An individual who is never whole
Seeking the impossible
Tainted heart, empty soul

For I there is no answer
Can there be light after this rain?
For having known one such as you
It could never be the same
