Whatever I take
or leave behind
Nothing shall survive the test of time
To whomever I worship
Whomever I pray
Providence disperses randomly
In whatever action
I do today
There is nothing I can carry away
For all I gather
Accrue, hoard and treasure
My visions are not those of successors
Whatever deeds I assert
Whatever triumph I boast
Momentarily, a faint chronicle or post
However, much I want
and endeavour to secure a legacy
Shifting sands shall ensure their brevity
Whatever I covet
Whatever I prize
None is exclusively mine
Whatever I think I possess
or believe mine to claim
At best, I am just a fleeting guardian
